Annapolis, Maryland, USA: 2/18/2012
Maybe this place was supposed to have some sort of romantic effect on me. It is very idyllic, I’ll give it that much. While I was expecting a sort of grungy, historic, urban atmosphere that Richmond, VA fosters, Annapolis is actually a very quiet and sleepy little town. It’s the sort of place where residents will offer a passing smile to you, the out-of-town stranger. Some are even willing to converse with you. The bricks, the architecture, the occasional uniform-clad Navy cadet, all belie it as a town steeped in history.
It was nice town, but I don’t think I’ve ever been romantic in that capacity so that was all lost on me. I left feeling ambiguous.
